A total of 204 workers including volunteers at the vaccination centre (PPV) at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam had tested positive for Covid-19 after a mass screening on July 10.
National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said they were among 453 workers at the IDCC Shah Alam PPV instructed to undergo screening for the virus.
Khairy, in a press conference this morning said they were told to undergo screening on July 10 after the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) received information that two volunteers at the PPV tested positive for Covid-19.
"Results from the RT-PCR test conducted on the workers came back positive with the virus showing they have a CT value of more than 35 and their virus load is low," said Khairy, who is also the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister.
This will enable the authorities including the Fire and Rescue Department to conduct sanitisation works at the centre.
Khairy added that the IDCC Shah Alam PPV will resume operations tomorrow.
He also informed that out of the 453 workers, 88 per cent or 400 of them have been vaccinated.
