World's first Generation IV nuclear power plant

China has stepped up its efforts to commercially utilize a fourth-generation nuclear reactor, which would be the first of its kind in the world. At Rongcheng, a coastal city in east China’s Shandong province, a high-temperature, gas-cooled reactor is being constructed, and is claimed to be the safest in the country. The project has been designed to merge high efficiency and output, with minimum radiation leakage. Our reporter Meng Qingsheng visited the plant and filed this exclusive report.
