Amazon FBA Refunds - Invalid Returns - [ How to Get Refunded & Reimbursed 2021 ]

Amazon’s system for FBA returns is complex. In order to identify what you’re due reimbursements for, you first have to know their return policies inside and out. Once you fully understand all the policies and what Amazon claims that they will reimburse a seller for and what they will not, you then have to figure out the process of how to identify the instances for what Amazon’s policies state that they will take responsibility for.

There are a few types of returns that can be reimbursed:

► Amazon’s policies state that if a product that you sold is returned by the buyer and it is damaged by one of Amazon’s partnered carriers, Amazon will take responsibility for that.

► Amazon has refunded a buyer for a unit out of your inventory without receiving the unit as a return and adding it back to your available inventory.

► Amazon’s policies state that the seller now has to allow 60 days for either the product to be returned or for a reimbursement to be issued. This was changed in the not-so-distant past - for as long as I can remember, it had always been 45 days.

So, we are going to generate 4 different reports that all have a portion of the essential data needed to ultimately, isolate any refund that Amazon issued for a product to a buyer where the product was never returned, Amazon has never issued you a refund for the order, and it has been at least 60 days since when the refund was issued.

Reports Needed for Reimbursement

1. Date Range Reports. (18 months-(Current date-60days)) The Date Range Reports page generates individual transaction reports and summary reports for orders within a specific range based on the date the orders were shipped.

2. FBA Returns Report. (18 months) This report displays all of your FBA returns or products returned by customers to an Amazon fulfillment center.

3. Reimbursement Report. (18 months) This report lists each instance where Amazon issued an FBA inventory reimbursement to your account balance.

4. Replacements Report. (18 months) This report outlines all of the replacement units that Amazon fulfilled to a buyer from your inventory.
