1. Odisha To Set Up Dedicated Fund To Facilitate Subsidies For Electric Vehicles
In order to achieve large scale adoption of electric vehicles (EV) in Odisha, the state government on Friday (September 17) announced to set up an 'Electric Vehicle Fund' to provide a variety of incentives to people buying electric vehicles. The government will offer incentives on the purchase and use of the vehicles for the next four years as envisaged under the 'Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy 2021, the State Commerce and Transport Department informed in a press release.
2. Odisha Floods: Subarnarekha Water Level Rising,
The entire administration in Odisha has been put on alert mode in view of the low to moderate level flood in the Mahanadi system.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena on Friday said that even though the water level in Baitarini and Jalaka rivers is receding, in Subarnarekha river it is on a rising streak.
