Taiwan to increase military capability in face of growing China threat

Taiwan is stepping up its military capabilities in the face of what it calls a growing threat from China. Taipei said long-range weapons are needed to counter Beijing. The government has already proposed extra defence spending worth almost US$9 billion, warning that China can paralyse the island's defences.
