Sky News host Peter Gleeson says thousands of Queenslanders “very angry” after the Palaszczuk government granted the families of NRL players an exemption to enter the state.
The Courier Mail is reporting the special exemption was given to the families of NRL players despite the premier imposing a two week pause on hotel quarantine last Wednesday.
"When you pause a hotel quarantine system and say we’re not taking anyone into our hotel quarantine scenarios for two weeks and then you allow five days later, a charter plane of NRL players' wives, girlfriends, kids and NRL officials, you are changing the goalposts considerably,” he said.
"And there are thousands of people who are right now very angry with the Palaszczuk government over this because they’re stuck in either the ACT, Melbourne or Sydney, unable to come back to Queensland until at least September 9.”
