Black Women More Likely to Undergo Hair Discrimination

Whether in box braids or weaves, relaxed or natural, Black hair is not only an example of our sense of style and beauty, it's also a celebration of our ancestry and rich culture.

Black women are nearly twice as likely as their white peers to be sent home from work because of their hair. Black women are more likely than anyone to report harsh judgment because of their hairstyles. Colorado State Representative Leslie Herod joins BNC’s “AMplified with Aisha Mills” to really get to the "root" of the problem.
