Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor's relationship was the talk of the town in the 90s. They were very good friends earlier and their friendship turned into love when Amitabh Bachchan approved their relationship. The Bachchan and Kapoor families were very close and they wanted to convert their friendship into love. Not many people know that the Bachchan family is a close relative of the Kapoor family. Raj Kapoor's grandson Nikhil Nanda was married to Shweta Bachchan, daughter of Amitabh Bachchan. At first these two families got connected like this and both the families fixed the engagement of Karishma and Abhishek. Abhishek and Karishma came close to each other during the shooting of 'Ya Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya' and dated each other for five years. Eventually Amitabh Bachchan did not agree to this and Karishma's mother got angry with this. Secondly, Babita wanted Abhishek and Karishma Bachchan to stay away from the villa. And this time, Jaya Bachchan could not keep calm and both Jaya and Amitabh decided to call off the engagement. Babita's rude proposal was going to break the Bachchan family and it was not pleasant for Jaya at all. Both Karishma and Abhishek had nothing to do with it as no one could go against their family.
