On September 24, Ankita Bhandari's body was recovered from Chilla canal in Rishikesh. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to investigate the case. SIT In-charge of Ankita Bhandari murder case and DIG (Law and Order) P Renuka Devi on September 24 in Dehradun, ensured that the case will be taken to the fast track court for speedy action. Staff of the hotel where Ankita Bhandari worked informed that Ankit Arya, brother of main accused, insisted to serve food to the receptionist a night before she went missing. “I got a call from Ankit Arya at 8pm to prepare dinner for 4 people. Around 10:45 pm, he came and told us that he'll take dinner to Ankita's room, to which I said our service boy will do that, but he didn't agree,” informed Manveer Chauhan, resort worker. “The next day we saw Ankita was missing from her room.
