The very idea of leaving once own country and study abroad is very exciting, but this does require lots of preparation with good strategy. Many of the btech students have this feeling that in order to get good score in IELTS it is mandatory to be an expert in English, if a student has done his schooling in the mother tongue, he/she can’t able to crack IELTS exam, what if I say all these are simple misconceptions.
yes, these are nothing but simple misconceptions IELTS exam does not ask for English experts or those who have done their PhD’s in English language, IELTS is just an English language testing exam, which only require basic English communication.
The IELTS Reading test consists of 40 questions, designed to test the ability to analyze the given piece of information. These include reading for gist, reading for main ideas, reading for detail, skimming, understanding logical argument and recognizing writer’s opinions, attitudes and purpose.
In IELTS reading, managing your time in the test is important as you only have 60 minutes to answer 40 questions. It is always recommended to spend no more than 20 minutes on each part of the Reading test, however, if you find the first passage easy, you may finish it in a shorter time, allowing you more time to answer questions in the next two passages. The passages get harder as you move through the test, so make sure you keep enough time to tackle the final passage.
